On Friday we had some time to start the introduction to money. We started with the basics practicing identifying the penny, nickel, dime, quarter and how much each was worth. In a couple of math topics we will dive right into counting coins, adding, and subtracting money... It's the perfect time for students to start practicing money skills at home! Using real coins as manipulatives are a GREAT way to bring this to life. As an extra review from class, there are a ton of money videos that your child can watch at home on our website under the "students" tab --> "in class videos" --> & find them under the "math videos" heading.
